Innovation and technology are key concepts to Anuga 2021. The international food and beverage fair takes place every second year in Cologne, Germany, and is the best place to find the newest developments and trends in the food industry.

In 2021, the trade fair will be held from October 9 - 13, and simultaneously host 10 events in different categories. As the leading global trade fair in the food and beverage sector, this is where stakeholders find opportunities and build a global network. Adding to the on-site events in multiple venues, Anuga (a german acronym for Allgemeine Nahrungs- und Genussmittel-Ausstellung) has introduced a digital format, Anuga @home, from October 11 - 13.

Colombia’s agri-food offer in Anuga 2021

Original Colombian products are appreciated around the globe for their superior quality, and the agri-food industry enjoys a competitive advantage as the production and exportation of fresh products can be sustained year-round. According to the FAO, the country has one of the greatest potentials for agricultural development worldwide, and can become a food pantry for the world. Colombia's exports in the sector of agriculture, food, and drinks totaled USD $7.872 million in 2020, as registered by the National Administrative Department of Statistics. This represents a growth of 7% compared to 2019.

So far this year, agri-food sector exports added USD $6.043 million, surpassing last year’s numbers over the same period, which was USD $5.085 between January and August.

ProColombia’s on-site exhibition at the Cologne Exhibition Center (Hall 03.1, booth C-019g to C-029g) will display a coffee experience led by renowned coffee producers including Descafecol, Jaroma roses, and Colcafé. These companies will present their proposal and vision for the hot beverage industryColombia has maintained a constant presence at Anuga, supporting products of Colombian origin and Colombian companies within the hot beverage industry and global food market.

Coffee exports from Colombia totaled USD $2.4 million in 2020, and this year has already accumulated USD 1.8 million. This is 20% greater than the exports over the same period last year.
